Lush Swamp Forest

I had lots of fun doing this somewhat abstract painting. I was experimenting with various techniques and did not have an exact location in mind. I love how the trees and vegetation are reflected in the water. Was this originally a kettle pond which is slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding forest or is it just a lower spot that occasionally gets flooded by winter snow runoff or heavy spring rains?
